The Victory Academy students mark GCSE milestone with impressive results

Students and staff at The Victory Academy located in Chatham and part of the Thinking Schools Academy Trust, are celebrating today as this year’s GCSE results are revealed.

The results reflect the hard work shown by pupils following two years of studies and the support given by dedicated staff and families.

The Victory Academy is pleased to have achieved another strong set of GCSE results. Building on sustained progress over the last three years, this year's students achieved the schools highest ever proportion of 7+ grades. The number of students achieving either a Grade 4+ or Grade 5+ above in English and mathematics has also risen again.

The Academy saw particular success across a range of subjects, including French and dance, where 100% of students achieved Grade 4 or above. In chemistry over 42% of students received a Grade 7 or above whilst in Spanish 35% of students received a Grade 7 or above. Strong outcomes were also achieved in physics with 95% of students receiving a Grade 5 or above, sport with 95% of students achieving a Grade 4 and art graphics, with 79% achieving Grade 4 or above.

Alongside the school's overall success, many pupils have achieved exceptional individual results, including:

  • Kirills S, who successfully achieved grade 9s in mathematics, combined science, geography, German, Russian and design and technology, as well as grade 8s in English language and Spanish.
  • Amir O, who successfully achieved grade 9s in mathematics, combined science, geography and Spanish, as well as grade 8s in business studies and sociology.
  • Daniil R, who successfully achieved grade 9s in English literature and Russian, as well as grade 8s in English language, business studies and media.
  • Sophie H, who successfully achieved a grade 9 in English literature, a D*2 in health and social care, and grade 8s in English language, history and media.
  • Caroline H, who successfully achieved a 9-8 in combined science, as well as grade 8s in mathematics, geography and Spanish.
  • Evie W, who successfully achieved a grade 9 in Art, as well as grade 8s in English language, design and technology and media.

“This is a hugely impressive set of GCSE results. Individual students should be extremely proud of their grades and the work that they put in to achieve them. These results also reflect the enormous skill and efforts of staff supporting students as the arrive in Year 7 right up until they sit their exams in Year 11. We look forward to welcoming students as they return to us in September ready to commence their A-Level studies.
