Dress Code

As a young adult in a professional environment, students attending The Victory Academy Sixth Form are expected to dress appropriately.

The Academy Dress Code will enable students to project a professional, businesslike image whilst at the same time being allowed some freedom of self-expression. The guidelines, however, are very clear to ensure appropriate standards of appearance in an Academy/work setting.

BOYS:GIRLS:
Formal style 2 or 3-piece suit 

Tailored style blazer with a formal skirt of an appropriate length (no higher than 5cm above the knee – taking into account that it will ride up a little when you walk) or tailored, full length trousers - not skin tight, meaning no leggings, jeggings or jeans.

Formal tailored shirt, tucked into the trousers, all shirt buttons fastened and tie worn to a conventional length. Or a smart plain jumper

Plain coloured blouse/shirt/top/jumper which is long enough to cover the waistband and which should have sleeves. No strappy, Bardot or cold-shoulder tops.

No flannel shirts

No underwear should be visible at any time

No jeans or denim of any sort

Neckline may be in any style but should not be low

No sports jackets or hoodies

No hats or any other non-religious headwear

Formal shoes

Coat (optional) – single colour, should be removed when inside the building. Not denim or leather and no logo/insignias/badges.

No flip flops, sliders, CROCS, trainers, canvas shoes, biker or Doc Martin style boots

Dark or natural coloured tights.

Please note:

  • Variations on the above for religious reasons are by agreement only.
  • Football Academy and Performing Arts students are expected to adhere to the Sixth Form dress code when attending registration and lessons and change into their kit at the start of the training sessions / lessons.
  • Football Academy students may wear their APD kit (tracksuit) all day on a match-day.

 

Failure to adhere to the above dress code will result in you being asked to return home to change before returning to Academy. Failure to return to Academy will be counted as an unauthorised absence

General Appearance

  • Students should present themselves in a clean and tidy manner.
  • If worn, make-up should be minimal and appropriate for work.
  • If worn, jewellery should be minimal and discreet.
  • Security passes must be worn at all times.
