Dress Code

As a young adult in a professional environment, students attending The Victory Academy Sixth Form are expected to dress appropriately.

You are no longer required to wear an Academy uniform, but the dress code is designed to promote a positive and responsible image of the Academy and ensure that your appearance is smart, sober in style and colour and professional

Mr Cass will be the final judge of suitability of dress within the Sixth Form.

BOYS:GIRLS:

Formal style 2 or 3-piece suit or suit trousers with a shirt, tie and a smart jumper

Tailored style blazer or smart cardigan with a formal skirt of an appropriate length (no higher than 5cm above the knee – taking into account that it will ride up a little when you walk) or tailored, full length trousers, (not skin tight, meaning no leggings, jeggings or jeans)

A smart jumper could be a ¼ zip or round neck jumper. Sports jumpers or hoodies are not classed as smart

Plain coloured blouse/shirt/top which is long enough to cover the waistband and which should have sleeves. No strappy, Bardot, off the shoulder or cold-shoulder tops.  

Formal tailored shirt, tucked into the trousers, all shirt buttons fastened and tie worn to a conventional length or a smart jumper with no logos.

No underwear should be visible at any time

No flannel shirts

Neckline may be in any style but should not be low

No jeans or denim of any sort

No hats or any other non-religious headwear

No sports jackets or hoodies

Coat (optional) – single colour, long enough to cover suit jacket. Not denim and with no logo/insignias/badges

Formal shoes

Dark or natural coloured tights

No trainers

Shoes should have heels no higher than 2”

No flipflops, trainers, UGG boots (or similar), canvas shoes, biker or Doc Martin style boots

Please note: 

  • Variations on the above for religious reasons are by agreement only.
  • Football Academy and Performing Arts students are expected to adhere to the Sixth Form dress code when attending registration and lessons and change into their kit at the start of the training sessions / lessons. 
  • Football Academy students may wear their APD kit (tracksuit) day on a match-day, Wednesday, only. 

 

Failure to adhere to the above dress code will result in you being asked to return home to change before returning to Academy. Failure to return to Academy will be counted as an unauthorised absence

General Appearance

  • Students should present themselves in a clean and tidy manner.
  • If worn, make-up should be minimal and appropriate for work.
  • If worn, jewellery should be minimal and discreet.
  • Security passes must be worn at all times.
