I am writing to inform you of further plans to expand the facilities provided to students at The Victory Academy.
In partnership with Medway Council, we are proposing to build a new Sixth Form block at the Academy. This will provide state-of-the-art facilities for our growing Sixth Form, including study and social spaces specifically for Sixth Form students, which will be separate from the main Academy building.
In addition, this will support an increase in our Published Admission Number (PAN) from 210 to 240 students in Year 7 from either September 2025 or September 2026, providing additional teaching space within the main building. The existing Sixth Form space will be converted into additional classrooms. This increase in PAN will further help to meet the increased need for secondary school places in Medway.
The increase in the physical capacity of the school is termed a ‘significant change’ by the Department for Education, and therefore, we are required to consult with all relevant stakeholders. We consequently open the consultation period from 8th December 2023 to 19th January 2024.
Alternatively, you can share your views for or against the proposal, by emailing Kealy Davidson, PA to the Headteacher, at Kealy.Davidson@victoryacademy.tsat.uk, or by writing to me at the Academy. If you choose to email or write, you must make clear whether you agree or disagree with the proposal, or have no preference.
The deadline for all responses is 19th January 2024. I look forward to hearing your views.
Yours sincerely
Mrs Michelle Smith
Headteacher
