I am writing to you to inform you of our plans for further development of the education provision provided at The Victory Academy.
In partnership with Medway Council, we are looking to establish a Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) at the Academy. The SRP is intended for students requiring additional support for Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH). This provision would be housed in a new capital build project which would be completed for late 2024. Initially the provision would provide spaces for a small number of students with an Education and Healthcare Plan (EHCP), expanding to accommodate a maximum of 25 students over time. All students attending the SRP will have an EHCP with SEMH listed as their primary need.
The Victory Academy and Thinking Schools Academy Trust have a fully inclusive ethos. As a result, the SRP will be of great value to the community and the school. Additional funding will be received to enable us to ensure the students’ needs are met through additional support, resources and specialist training.
The next step is to consult with relevant stakeholders as this is considered a significant change to our Academy. Therefore, we will be consulting from 1st December 2023 to 15th January 2024.
Alternatively, you can share your views for or against the proposal, by emailing Kealy Davidson, PA to the Headteacher, at Kealy.Davidson@victoryacademy.tsat.uk, or by writing to me at: The Victory Academy, Magpie Hall Road, Chatham, Kent, ME4 5JB.
If you choose to email or write, you must make clear whether you agree or disagree with the proposal or have no preference.
The deadline for all responses is 15th January 2024.
We look forward to hearing your views.
Yours sincerely
Mrs Michelle Smith
